The World Happiness Report has been published. The report, which is the 7th since it was first released in 2012, presents data on the state of global happiness, ranking 156 countries by perceived happiness among their population. This year’s report focuses on the role of technologies, social norms, conflicts and government policies in changing happiness the past dozen years. The report can be read here, while a blog about the report can be read here

Interestingly, another recent study using ‘The Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scales (WEMWBS) found that people from southern Europe had higher mental well-being than those living in the north. This contradicts the findings from The World Happiness Report who uses the ‘Cantril’s ladder of life evaluation’.
