Next week (13-17 May 2019), the European Public Health Association marks the first ever European Eubic Health WEEK. The goal is to raise awareness of public health and celebrate healthy populations and they urge professionals, organisations and/or citizens interested in public health to join and/or organise their own events across Europe. On March 29th, sWell saw its first PhD completion as Ellen Nesset Mælan defended her thesis titled ‘Teachers’ everyday practices and pupils’ mental health: an exploratory study of secondary school’ at Inland Norway University, faculty of education. Ellen Nesset Mæland’s work package 3 has seen another article being published. The article entitled ‘Teachers’ and head teachers’ experiences with supporting pupils’ mental health” is available (in Norwegian only) here.
We’ve recently completed the second round of data collection on Work Package 1, so one more round to go! Very many thanks to all our participating schools – teachers, head teachers and, of course the young people – in continuing to support our research alongside everything else they have to do.
